Yesterday I went down to the fishing port (about 1/2 mile) & got some sashimi. Now, all the octopus sashimi I've had in the states was dry & rubbery; I ate it anyway, just for something to do. But here, it's moist & flavorful. That's an eye-opener. Freshness counts, off the boat that morning.

I've been trying out the language, a little, and I know a lot more than I did last year; but I haven't really had time to practice it the way I wanted to--too much work to do.
